Two separate Defense teams represent the two defendants in this case, each with its own Count Counsel mirroring the counts brought by the prosecution. Defense Count Counsel use the same IRAC structure as their prosecution counterparts, but in reverse, challenging the prosecution's evidence and legal framing element by element. Each defense team also has the opportunity, in Week 2, to file procedural motions asking the court to resolve a threshold issue, such as jurisdiction, admissibility, evidence, or a violation of the defendant's procedural rights, before the substantive case is heard.
