Summary
The Beli and Ölafen people inhabit the northern portion of Mir’s largest landmass, nestled between the Saden and Ayalamih Mountains.
Once a hegemonic power, Belogal faces an uncertain future. Belogal’s decline is reflected in both the loss of its colonial empire and inability to secure neighboring lands during the Great Hadian War. More recently, democratic backsliding has resulted in an illiberal political system that is poorly equipped to meet the demands of its citizens and new threats resulting from climate change. The Beli government survived large-scale protests against the use of nuclear weapons and for democracy. Nonetheless, abundant mineral resources, a large military, and modern nuclear capabilities reflect the continued importance of Belogal in Mirian international relations.
The Beli Empire once included present day Ghanidash, Pramatra, and Hin Klia. The fall of this empire along with Belogal’s defeat in the Great Hadian War against Ghanidash and Pramatra made Belogal withdraw to its territory between the Saden and Ayalamih Mountains. The government has erected massive and heavily armed fortifications on its southern border. Despite this unsettled situation, migration from former colonies to the capital city continues to the present day.
